
Breakdown of LAN Installation
Costs
Foresee Computing can price an installation by the job rather
than by the hour based on an estimate prepared by a consultant. Pricing by the job means
no surprises for the customer and allows the customer the flexibility to finance the
installation along with the computer purchase. Our services include cabling, server and
peer-to-peer networking, network application installation and configuration, data
migration, and internet connectivity.
Typical labour components for a LAN installation consists of the following (costs
exclude PST & GST):
File Server
Install, configure, and test the following:
- Network interface cards
- RAID hard disk subsystem (if applicable)
- Network operating system
- Tape backup system and software
- Uninterruptible power supply and software

Workstations
Install, configure and test the following:
- Network interface cards
- Operating system
- Network drivers
- Office automation software (if applicable)

Install, configure and test the following:
- Print server
- Network printers/plotters
This service effectively involves sending a technician to restore service on a time and materials basis. The technician works on the problem
continuously until service is restored. While our best effort will be to restore service
on-site, some problems may require solutions from third parties off-site at additional
cost.
Foresee Computing's rate for on-demand computer support by appointment is
$97.50 per hour with a
two hour minimum.
Foresee Computings rate for emergency on-demand, evening, and
weekend support by our technical staff is $120.00 per hour, with a minimum of 2 hours billing.
Foresee Computing's rate for Server, Network and Router support is
$120.00 per hour. After hour, emergency and weekend rate is
$160.00 per hour.
Foresee Computing's rate for consulting and project management
services is $125.00 per hour
*All support, service, and consulting services are billed on a minimum of 2 hours
within the Greater Toronto Area.
*All support, service, and consulting services provided outside the Greater Toronto
Area carry a minimum of 2 hours of service and additional charge for travel time and
related travel expenses.
